By partnering with ACRT, utilities gain objective, comprehensive insights into how to enhance their electric transmission and distribution, identify and remove liabilities associated with vegetation and improve relations with their customers.
We assess and monitor utility systems for vegetation liabilities and storm preparedness, consult with utility decision-makers on planning and budgeting, represent utilities to both customers and regulators, and train our personnel to be knowledgeable, safety-focused industry leaders.
We do all this and more to keep utilities in power over the integrity of their systems and their public image.
ACRT consistently gives back to the industry and the communities we serve, whether it's sponsoring an event or initiative as a company or encouraging our employees to get involved with a local project or organization.
Each year, ACRT contributes to the Tree Research & Education Endowment (TREE) Fund, which provides research grants, scholarships, and educational programs to advance knowledge in the field of arboriculture and urban forestry. ACRT employees also participate in the annual Tour des Trees cycling event, which supports the TREE Fund by raising money for scientific research and education programs related to arboriculture and urban forestry.
ACRT employees serve on various committees for the Utility Arborist Association (UAA) — an organization where utility arborists, employed by electric utilities, can network and share information. Many of our team members support or participate in the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA), which promotes the professional practice of arboriculture and fosters a greater worldwide awareness of the benefits of trees.
Finally, ACRT hosts the annual Foresters For Food Charity Golf Outing, which benefits the Akron-Canton Food Bank. In 2012, our first-ever event raised $11,470. Each dollar donated went to buy four meals for needy families in the area, totaling 45,880 meals.
