ACRT Recognizes Jeremiah Byrd with G.E.M. Award
February 23, 2017
ACRT presents its Going the Extra Mile (G.E.M.) Award to its employees as recognition of tireless work and their willingness to go above and beyond their regular calls of duty.
This month, ACRT is proud to recognize Jeremiah Byrd, for his outstanding commitment to safety best practices. Byrd has done everything from spotting a tree leaning toward the conductors of a 230 kV line to going out of his way to find and stop a logging operation taking place beneath transmission lines. He is constantly showcasing his willingness to go the extra mile to ensure everyone on his teams are putting safety first.
Byrd’s contracted to Duke Energy and has been a pillar of safety for their regional organization. He was recently designated a safety “Observer,” a role within Duke to promote and focus on safety. He is able to spot hazards and potentially unsafe conditions as soon as they materialize, and work quickly to rectify them.
His communication skills serve him well, enabling him to explain to colleagues in effective, resonant terms how and why to work more safely.
ACRT strives to make safety a part of everything it does, and having employees like Jeremiah Byrd is something our organization greatly values.
Join us in congratulating Jeremiah!
