Line Clearance Arborist Certification Class

5-Day Workshop

No less than 40 hours, 40 ISA CEUs*

This workshop, which is unique and only available through ACRT Urban Forestry Training, is designed for the tree worker whose person, tree, or equipment comes within the 10’ safety zone around energized wires. Successful completion of this course satisfies OSHA’s demand of employers that they provide electrical safety training for their employees.

ACRT certification as a Line Clearance Arborist or Line Clearance Arborist Trainee is issued upon satisfactory completion of the course.

Prerequisites:

• 2 years of experience as a tree trimmer
• Ability to tie at least 4 basic knots
• Basic knowledge of ANSI Z133.1 Safety Standard
• Some knowledge of safe chain saw techniques on the ground and in the tree
• Proof of CPR and First Aid training

Participants will learn:

• To work safely in proximity to energized lines
• Tree growth patterns
• How trees are damaged, and caring for them
• The concept of directional pruning
• Current ANSI Tree Trimming Safety Standards
• Basic tree identification criteria
• Correct use of a chain saw
