Satisfactory completion of the ACRT Line Clearance Arborist Certification meets the requirements of OSHA 29CFR 1910.269. That regulation requires employers of line clearance tree trimmers and aerial lift operators to certify that their employees have received special training according to recommended training guidelines contained in Annex B ANSI Z133. OSHA regulations allow an employer to use an educational organization such as ACRT to train and/or certify their employees.
Line Clearance Arborist Certification is offered at ACRT headquarters in Ohio and combines classroom demonstration and field training and testing. The workshop can be taught at hosted facilities or self-administered by the employer.
Upon satisfactory completion of the ACRT-conducted course, participants receive an ACRT Line Clearance Arborist certificate, helmet decal and wallet identification card.
Tuition for the course in Akron, Ohio, is $720. The course includes:
- Certification as a Line Clearance Arborist
- Line Clearance Arborist Certification manual
- Maintenance of training and certification records for 5 years and reminder at re-certification times
