This instruction is designed for substation workers and substation grounds maintenance personnel as safety training specifically designed for their job requirements. Offered by home study or request only.

Prerequisites:

  • Pesticide applicator’s license
  • Proof of CPR and First Aid training

Participants will learn:

  • The nature of electricity, the effects of electric shock
  • How a substation functions
  • The electrical hazards in substations
  • Safety requirements in ANSI Z-133.1
  • Recognize typical electric hardware in a substation
  • Safe work practices in proximity to a substation
  • Proper use of pesticides in substations
  • Rescue procedure

      * All of our classes are available in both English and Spanish. Classes also qualify for ISA Continuing Education Units, if requested - ask us for details.

      ** All classes require a $50 registration fee. Full tuition for the class is due 10 days prior to start of the class. Cash , MasterCard, Visa, Purchase Order accepted. An enrollment may be cancelled provided ACRT is notified in writing of the cancellation. Refunds are made no later than 30 days after cancellation.
