5-Day Workshop
No less than 40 hours, 40 ISA CEUs*
This workshop is designed for individuals who have
taken ACRT’s Basic Arborist course or who have
had two years or more on-the-job experience and
some formal training. Class size is limited to 12.
Instruction is both hands-on and in classroom.
Prerequisites:
- Ability to climb to 20’ with rope and saddle
- Ability to tie at least 4 basic knots
- Know and practice safe chain saw techniques
- Some tree removal experience
- Some limb walking experience
- Basic knowledge of current ANSI Standards
Participants will learn:
- Current ANSI Standards
- Compartmentalization Theory of Decay in Trees
- To develop and present safety meetings
- How to select appropriate tree species
- Proper planting techniques
- Roping, rigging, and zip lining
- How to handle storm damage recovery
- How to use a tree crane for removal
- How to conduct safe aerial rescue training
- How to create a tree appraisal report
- How to complete a hazard tree rating
- Basic supervisory and interpersonal skills
- The basics of pest and disease diagnosis
- How to use ascenders, split-tail climbing system, cambium savers, and false crotches
Cost: $720**
* All of our classes are available in both English and
Spanish. Classes also qualify for ISA Continuing
Education Units, if requested - ask us for details.
** All classes require a $50 registration fee. Full tuition
for the class is due 10 days prior to start of the class.

An enrollment may be cancelled provided ACRT is
notified in writing of the cancellation. Refunds are
made no later than 30 days after cancellation.
