One of the core competencies of ACRT is training. We place a high value on sharing with our clients and customers the years of knowledge that all of our highly trained and educated employees have accumulated. ACRT Urban Forestry Training provides entry level through advanced arborist training. All of the programs are carefully matched to client and customer requirements including classroom and hands-on field training.
The courses are designed for employees from municipalities; line clearance companies, government agencies and commercial/residential tree care companies.
ACRT Urban Forestry Training is a licensed proprietary center of learning operating internationally, with an experienced and highly qualified staff of full-time instructional, management and support personnel. The ACRT Urban Forestry Training is the largest licensed arboriculture vocational training organization in North America.
Training Formats
ACRT provides training in 3 different formats depending on your needs and budget.
1) Training at ACRT
Classes are regularly scheduled througout the year at our Ohio headquarters. This is a very cost-effective way for individuals or small groups to receive great hands-on training with a professional and experienced instructor.
2) Training at your location
If you have several people to train or need customized training, our trainer can come to you and conduct classes at your location.
3) Self-Study
Our own proprietary training manuals and information, the same ones which we use in our classes, are also available for purchase online for use as self-study materials.
ACRT Urban Forestry Training
ACRT Urban Forestry Training provides vocational training at entry and advanced levels to give students the technical expertise and scientific basis for professional tree care. Skills taught include climbing, pruning, roping and rigging, chain saw operations, tree identification, safety and tree removal. ACRT establishes cooperative projects with business, industry and government agencies to develop skilled, entry-level workforce for utility line clearance, commercial/residential tree care, and related “green industry” jobs.
We provide instruction and certification for compliance with federal and state occupational health and safety (OSHA) rules and regulations, as well as conducting Urban Forestry vocational training for Job Corps young adults in Arkansas, Illinois, Kentucky, Oregon and Vermont and offers placement services for graduates with tree care firms nationwide.
Overview
Class size is maintained at 12 students per instructor in all classes involving climbing, aerial lift, line clearance instruction or other above ground work. All students have the opportunity to experience hands-on activities in all the classes. For each class, students receive an ACRT manual and an ACRT Urban Forestry Training certificate upon satisfactory completion of the class.
